I spent Wednesday taking bad photos at C. Y. Thompson library on East Campus. Turns out, one of the "models" was a kid I went to high school with. Small world.
The library can be incredibly boring. I was sent out to take photos of the Media Services room, but spent most of my day wandering about Love. Actually, who am I kidding? I spent most of my day in the comic/graphic novel section of Love South. They have some pretty interesting books down there. The beauty (and humor) can be found in the details.
Well the summer DN has started up once again. This year I'm designing, not doing art, but I do get to do the Jazz in June covers again. This is the third year in a row. I didn't think we could top last year's series, but this year's covers are looking pretty sweet. Here is the first cover which came out on June 1st and a look at the cover for the second issue which will come out on June 8th.
Gonna probably make layered cut-out prints of my Iron Man illustration this week or next week to hang in the house somewhere. I need something to keep me from getting too stressed and freaking out this summer. Even then, I might not make it.
So, I got a job working for the UNL libraries this summer. Except, it's not as boring as it sounds. I thought I would be working for the circulation desk or reshelving books, but I was offered a job with the web and development department. So, I get to make graphics and take photos for the web site, which is pretty cool. I did my first photo session today, here are some shots from the Geology Library.
