Work Things

So, I got a job working for the UNL libraries this summer. Except, it's not as boring as it sounds. I thought I would be working for the circulation desk or reshelving books, but I was offered a job with the web and development department. So, I get to make graphics and take photos for the web site, which is pretty cool. I did my first photo session today, here are some shots from the Geology Library.

A few cool things

First, the sweet, sweet poster that my roommate Clay Lomneth and I put together for QAC's Day of Silence event.

Second, I got to draw Ironman for the DN. I love my job.

I love my job

Today's post is one of my favorite pieces of art that I've done for the DN in quite a while. When I saw the slug "a-dinosaurs" it made my day. The fact that the story involved natural disasters too just made it even better.

FCP: Spacial Thinker

I've been working on a series of fake concert posters for a few months now. I'm hoping to put them up as part of the art show that Clay and I are planning to have at the house before we move out. Here is the latest addition to the collection:

The heavy Crown

you were the queen of everything
for one night in the drink
the Crown is your only crutch
you Royal burden
but it’s oh so heavy
when your head tips
and it all comes crashing down
your kingdom for a clean rag
the coke was just the sugar
taken to make the medicine a little sweeter

The DN Art Department: We're kind of a big deal
